This rare vintage cast iron ashtray features a tile of Blondie, Dagwood, and other comic strip characters. It was an advertising item from King Features Syndicate, probably from the 1940s to 1950s.

Since the early 1930s, when Blondie Boopadoop was wooed by Dagwood Bumstead in Chic Young's classic comic strip, the Bumsteads have been a staple of American culture. The four-color tile shows Blondie, Dagwood, their children Cookie and Alexander, and their dog Daisy.

The tile also includes the logo and title of Puck the Comic Weekly, which was a weekly comic insert in newspapers across the country, published by William Randolph Hearst's King Features Syndicate. Puck himself (depicted on this tile) stood at the masthead, along with the Shakespearean quote, "What fools these mortals be!" The tile also includes the line "The All-Family Medium"; the ashtray was probably a premium of some kind.

The bottom of the cast-iron ashtray is stamped Japan. The tile itself has a small red and gold sticker that says Made in Japan.

The ashtray is in very good condition. There is some rust on the iron (which could be cleaned up). The image on the tile is still bright and colorful. It has a few very small chips around the edges of the tile, which are largely protected by the iron.

Size: 5 inches square (12.7 cm), and almost 1 inch deep (2.5 cm)

Vintage Camera Agfa Ansco Clipper Senior PD16 1930s-1940s Black Electronics by CalloohCallay

This great looking fixed focus vintage camera is the Agfa Ansco Clipper Senior, dating to the late 1930s or 1940s. The front of the camera pulls out (no bellows) to shoot. It has a Unifo double lens and a bulb exposure bar for longer exposures. The camera takes PD16 film.

The camera has some wear on the black metal finish and on the textured cloth covering. Otherwise it appears to be in good condition, though it has not been film tested. The shutter seems to work fine, as do the winding knobs. The cloth handle has a little wear but is very sturdy.

Size: The camera is approximately 5 x 3 1/2 x 3 inches (12.7 x 8.8 x 7.6 cm)

This gorgeous vintage faux pearl necklace / choker, hand knotted and made with glass pearls in an ivory color, is 18 inches (45.7 cm). The pearls are 7 mm in size and so pretty and bright--a lovely piece for your vintage collection.

The clasp on this necklace is gold-tone metal with a large faux pearl cabochon. The necklace is unmarked. It's in very good condition, with very little wear and some slight yellowing discoloring on a few of the pearls that's noticeable only on close inspection.

This wonderful vintage papier (paper) mache serving tray was made in Japan in the 1930s or 1940s and is stamped Alcohol Proof on the back. The tray features a photo of Buckingham Memorial Fountain in Grant Park, Chicao, backed by the Chicago skyline. The rims of the tray are hand painted and stamped in red, black, and gold with colorful flowers.

The tray is in good condition for this type of piece. It has a few small chips and cracks on the back; plus a few small chips and some wear around the rim and on the gilt paint there. But the center of the tray still looks wonderful--a great retro display piece but still very usable.

For the bird watcher or nature lover, a wonderful vintage bird field guide from 1941: The Blue Book of Birds of America (by Frank Ashbrook; published by Whitman). The book includes color illustrations by Paul Moller and descriptions of the birds' appearance, habitat, habits, range, etc. This book was part of a series of four and includes jays, larks, orioles, grackles, finches, etc. It has two copyright dates--1931 and 1941.

The book is in good condition. The binding is tight with wear along the edges and spine. The pages are slightly yellowed but in very good shape otherwise.

This colorful vintage candy toffee tin by Riley Brothers of Halifax, England, is titled Canadian Mountie on Patrol, with a red-coated Mountie (Mounted Police) on horseback in a mountain setting. The tin is octagonal and has red sides and red and yellow stripes around the image. The sides are marked Riley's Toffee, Halifax, England, 8 oz Net Weight, Made in England.

The tin is in good condition, with some scratches on the top and sides, a few small dents around the bottom rim, and some gummy spots in places. The lid is tight fitting, making this suitable for storage or display.

The vintage celluloid wafer button on this vintage button necklace makes a striking statement, with the gloss, warmth, and intricate design of a parquet floor. It's a layered and carved button in different shades of brown, gold, and black and with a checkerboard in the center. It's paired with another celluloid button, this one a shade of slightly greenish brown with a ridged perimeter that forms the perfect frame for the wafer button.

The pendant is 1 3/4 inches (4.4 cm) and attached to a silver plate bail. It hangs from a brown leather cord with a silver plate lobster claw clasp. The cord is 22 inches long (56 cm), but can be lengthened or shortened on request.

This elegant vintage cow creamer by Enesco, Korea, is white ceramic handpainted in blue to look like Delft. It has a windmill on one side and flower on the other, blue hooves and other accents, a tail that doubles as a handle, and a hole in the mouth for pouring. This sweet creamer would also make a cute kitchen planter.

The cow has a red and gold sticker on the bottom that says Imports, Enesco, Korea. I believe it dates to the 1980s.

The cow is in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks.

This book is in good condition. The cover is scuffed and has a stray red mark and stain on the back but is tight and still bright. Inside, there are stamps on the inside cover; the pages are only faintly yellowed, and I only found one page with scribbling, plus a number more with some staining and a few with tears. Still, overall, the pages are in very good shape for its age.
