I’m Christine Mighion, like “pigeon”, only slightly more elegant.

I’m an artist, a soul worker, and one woman show! I’m a woman in love with color and raw beauty. And in a very small way, I’m trying to help our world with your help, one piece of jewelry at a time.

Inspiration…
The natural world is very important to me. It has inspired me since I was a young child and it has beckoned me to travel great distances to breathe in it’s beauty. I’ve felt the wet earth in between my toes while hiking in rain forests and have memorized its intoxicating scent. I’ve walked above the clouds, where the air is thin and the silversword grow. Yet it’s the sea, with its other worldly creatures, healing rhythms, and ever changing moods, that has completely stolen my heart. Whether it's in the beauty of an unusual stone or the textural fingerprint created while working a piece of metal, I hope you will not only see a hint of this inspiration, but feel something move inside of you. It is my hope that your piece speaks directly to your soul.

Kicking my ego to the curb…
Not too long ago, my jewelry created a little buzz. It was featured in multiple national and international fashion and lifestyle magazines, and I even had a handful of celebrity clients. I was on a business trajectory that most people dream of, but it wasn’t my dream.

After a little soul searching and pushing my ego aside, I decided to change gears. I began my business because I truly loved creating each piece with my hands. I enjoyed going into the studio and not knowing what might flow through me that day. I just knew that I needed to create jewelry that spoke to my soul. And I could only hope that you would be able to feel love that I poured into every piece.

Fabricating a piece of jewelry from raw metal takes time. Like reciting a sacred prayer, I’m in the present moment when I’m building a piece. Using fire and ancient metalsmithing techniques, I slowly and intentionally form the metal into something beautiful and unique. I never have a sketched plan, but I listen for each stone to speak to me, and they do. Images and stories come to mind and with those I begin. It’s truly a sacred dance and I'm thankful for the muse that guides me.

Our planet…
Christine Mighion Jewelry has been committed to running an ethical and environmentally conscious business since day one. I use only 100% recycled gold and silver to create each piece of jewelry. If all jewelry designers committed to this one action alone, we could greatly reduce the destruction to the environment, it’s water supply, and surrounding communities due to mining new metals. All diamonds are conflict free and purchased within the United States and whenever possible, I use ethically mined stones.

Recently, I’ve fallen in love with cutting my own stones. This not only reduces waste, but insures you have received a piece of jewelry that has been completely created by the artist’s hands and soul, from start to finish.

I’ve truly enjoyed the stories and pictures you’ve shared with me more than you would ever know. I treasure hearing how a piece of my jewelry that I made in love, came to signify something special in your life or in someone’s life that you cherish. So to this day, when you reach out to me with a question, I’ll be the one answering you and not an assistant. Our connection is as important to me as the piece of jewelry you receive.
