I'm so happy that I taught myself to crochet back in the 90's! Besides learning a craft, I felt like it also meant that I had also finally learned more patience. I first tried to teach myself to knit years ago when I was a lot younger and didn't have the patience or the "stick to it" frame of mind back then. My aunt did both crochet and knitting back when I was a child, and I thought it was so cool how she held the hook and how fast she crocheted... sooo, fast forward to the 90's and I decided to try to teach myself by buying a beginner instruction book and just went from there.

My daughter-in-law introduced me to Etsy and I was fascinated with all the shops and all the talented people on here. I also had moved from my home state of Texas, and moving ultimately to a colder climate just reinforced my crochet addiction. After a year or so I decided to open my own shop and give it a try - a logical step for me, right? I love it - it's both a lot of fun and a lot of work! Of course, my favorite time of year is fall and winter when yarn items are in much greater demand.
