I’d been spinning for a couple years and started blending other peoples hand-dyed fiber with my hand cards, but that just wasn’t good enough. As a mixed media artist I was drawn to the idea of blending and different colors and textures just like my artwork. It was a natural progression for me to go from painting to painting with fiber so I got myself a drum carder and started experimenting. My batts are designed with complimentary colors in mind. I keep in mind an art batt’s tendency to barberpole depending on how it’s spun and I wanted to blend in colors that will tonally compliment each other and of course there’s always a bit of sparkle cause I like it!
