For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to create things. The first memory I have of making something was in the first grade. I was living in Guam at the time, and my neighborhood friends, Daisy and Lillibeth, were showing me how to weave a palm leaf mat. As time passed, I found myself drawing in church, learning to sew in the third grade, and exploring cooking as an adolescent. A myriad of crafts, gardens, watercolors, events, designing patios and mosaics—all revealed the evidence of a continuing passion for MAKING! Being fascinated with the learning process, I still hadn't realized I was an artist!

After raising a family of four, life took an unexpected turn and someone made a comment in passing... "all she wants to do is be an artist"... WOW! The puzzle pieces of my making journey finally made some sense! Not long after I randomly stumbled across a palette knife painting combining intriguing texture and a vibrant palette of all the rainbow colors I so loved. I reached out to the artist and they graciously encouraged me to stop by sometime if I was in the area. I made plans for a road trip the next day and I was hooked!

I opened my Etsy shop in 2014 sharing my original inspirations and hope they bring as much happiness to you as they do to me. I enjoy using my hands to create reflections of the heart using a palette knife, my hands, or other “found” tools for my paintings...occasionally using a brush. As a self-taught artist, exploring the expressive nature of texture, color, and contrast is a large part of the joy I experience when approaching a new piece.
Inspiration and motivation unfolds from my love of connecting to the surrounding world, soaking up the beauty of the moment and remaining open in a child-like manner, full of wonder.
