Going to bed has never been this much fun! Maybe we have something to learn from this snippet of poetry from "My Bed is a Boat", by Robert Louis Stevenson.

I painted this with acrylic paint on a background of torn children’s book pages. The images on the book pages blend with my painting and add to the whimsical atmosphere.

It is painted on a light wood panel with professional quality acrylics and the piece has an archival varnish to protect it. There is a saw tooth hanger at the back so there is no need for framing, it is ready to enjoy as soon as you unpack it!

Details:
The painting is signed by me in the bottow left corner. The white ghost letters at the top are a watermark to prevent the image from being stolen off the internet and they do not appear on the original painting
The canvas measures 8 by 8 inches
The sides are painted indigo blue, no need to frame.

What could be better than a snow cone on a hot day? …Maybe being with someone you like is even better than your snow cone!

I painted this with acrylic paint on a background of maps, song book pages, children’s books and tissue. The interesting thing about painting on these papers is that they show through and create all kinds of dimension to the painting, both visually and figuratively. The words peek through the paint and start to have new meaning as we relate them to the picture.

It is painted on stretched canvas with professional quality acrylics and the piece has an archival varnish to protect it. There is a saw tooth hanger at the back so there is no need for framing, it is ready to enjoy as soon as you unpack it!

It's A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood! This bright landscape reminded me of Fred Rogers who immortalized those words in his wonderful children's show. It would be a wonderful addition to a child's room or the room of anyone young at heart. This is part of a series of townscapes that I made from linoleum rubber blocks. All of my blocks are designed and hand carved individually by me. Each print is original because I never put the same blocks down in the same order with the same colors of ink. The variety is part of the fun!

These two little girls are just stepping out into the big world.

When you were little did you ever imagine that you were an animal? Perhaps you really believed it. This little girl feels she is really a bear. Maybe she is right! Her shadow is a bear.

I painted this with acrylic paint on a background of children’s storybook pages, tissue and Citra-Solv altered paper. The interesting thing about painting on these papers is that they show through and create all kinds of dimension to the painting, both visually and figuratively. Images peek through the paint and start to have new meaning as we relate them to the picture. In the bottom right corner are the words, "No one really understood that she was a bear..." These words were typed on my old typewritter!

Sometimes it’s hard to tell if you are asleep or awake.
There are so many mysterious things you can see in the dark and in your dreams. I was thinking about that mysterious realm between sleep and waking when I painted this.

“Up Up and Away” is inspired by a photo taken at a birthday party. I love to see the world from the perspective of children. It is full of wonder and drama. The party balloons are magical!

This is a mixed media painting. I used various book pages, acrylic paint and charcoal pencil to create the scene. The underlying book pages show through to create layers of meaning and interest. It is varnished and ready to hang!

He’s seen this bird somewhere before…could it be himself?

You know the feeling you get when you think you've seen something or someone before, but you can't place it, and the answer is somewhere behind the locked door or in your subconscious. I love the whole mystery of this feeling. Perhaps that person is someone who checked out your groceries two years ago...or perhaps you knew them in another life...and that face in the window...you know it's you because you've seen it before ...but it doesn't look like you. Interesting concepts.

This is a one of a kind, highly collectible Artist Trading Card or ACEO. ACEO stands for “Art Cards, Editions and Originals”. Artist Trading cards are an affordable way to collect original art.

To make this ACEO I used watercolor and ink on handmade paper. I then stitched the paper with black thread. It is mounted on a vintage dictionary page and the whole thing is attached to sturdy mat board.
