INFO ABOUT BONE
At the moment I carve Beef bone utilised from existing markets. I intend to explore other bone types and materials. but I DO NOT carve rare bone such as whale or elephant bone.

MAKE TO ORDER:
I operate with a general rule that work available here is made to order. The nature of the bone and the hand craftsmanship you will receive a close approximation to the images of the work you selected. Each are different, but all are given the same level of care and thought.

CHARACTER OF THE MATERIAL:
I love the evolving character qualities of bone, which include it absorbing oil from your skin (if you wear it next to the skin) and shows and aged appearance over time. I like to pre-oil An aspect I like about this is the idea some cultures have about the bone absorbing your oils, the item is later passed on to a relative and a part of you is passed on with it. The next wearer adds their own oils contributing to the personal nature of the bone item. I also like any character that comes into the work as I work on it. Some of these are flacks which could be considered part of the grain of the bone. They show up as small spots that catch material causing them to discolour. There are sometimes small fractures (I'm selective about these as I feel they must not detract from the work as I see it or lower the perception of quality).

COMMISSION OF WORK:
If you wish to order something to a specific specification and design please use the "Request Custom Item" link to create a commission. I like to discuss commission with people before accepting it and with Etsy it will be no different, so please be responsive to my chat. If you have your own design please attach sketches if you are able to, so visualisation is a little easier and reduce misinterpretation of request. Please note that my commission fee is higher due to the one off nature of the work. Other items for sale are items I have had time to think through and practice so I can make them quicker and afford to lower their price. Do not request for me to make a design/item that belongs to another crafter.

SURFACE FINISHES:
Currently I offer the following finishes which can be applied to most designs if made clear from the start. They are: White polished, White satin, Oiled polished, Oiled satin.

FIXINGS, CHOKERS AND CORDS:
At present all earrings will be depicted with the only ear attachment method for that item. I also tend to have a desired fixing which may come in a couple of variation which will be outlined in the items description. But I can usually readily supply alternate chokers or cords if made clear from the start. They are: Rubber cord with Silver fixings, Silver wire, Snake chain or Ball chain. You will need to specify the length of the Choker/Cord allowing for slight variations.

AFTER YOUR ODER IS MADE:
Please specify what your alternate finishes, chokers or cords are (if any) with your order. If your not confident I will get the information please feel free to message me as well. I will send you a message when I receive the order information quoting what it is I intend to produce for you including any variation you ask for. I'll expect to be messaged ASAP if there are any errors in my understanding the order.

I will endeavour to keep you informed of progress on a daily basis, at the end of my working days.

OTHER WORK COMMITMENTS:
Please be aware that I produce work for real outlets and sometime have exhibition deadlines to meet. I will notify you if I am under pressure for time.
