Life in Color
Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, I grew up drinking sweet iced tea and consuming color. Color has fascinated me from an early age, and I often said silly things like, "What a yummy looking blue!" The first pair of shoes I remember choosing on my own were bright purple sneakers. I would daydream and sketch in my apple green bedroom, and I found myself wishing to be an artist abroad.
After graduating with a BFA in Art Education, I went on to teach high school art in Seoul, South Korea. Traveling around the globe and being a real part of the stuff of my childhood dreams gave me a deeper understanding of how much beauty and color enhances everyday life.
Now settled back in the United States, I’m a full-time wife and mommy and freelance artist. I have the undeniably best job in the world for me.
Cuppa Color is a culmination of colors of all shades and hues, together with playful mark-making, hints of geometric pattern, and lots of inspiration from travels and art history. It’s my everyday life in color.
