DMPottery's Shop Policies
My experience in production pottery workshops has taught me to aim for consistent quality and functionality in my work which I endeavour to pass on to my customers.
My work is made entirely by me and fired to durable stoneware temperatures (1260-1280 C) in an electic kiln. I generally work in batches following a particular form and glaze style to create wares that are collectable as sets and repeatable. As this work is handmade, each piece will be individually unique in its details - the great attraction and strength of handmade objects.
My wares are made either on the potter's wheel or by using a soft slab technique or interestingly, a combination of the two techniques.
My functional tablewares are glazed in durable glazes that are lead and barium free and chip resistant. They are food safe and can be put in the microwave or dishwasher (unless otherwise stated in the item description - I do use one textural glaze and some slips that should not be placed in a dishwasher). As with all ceramic wares, take care regarding thermal shock - it is not advised to take pots directly from the fridge and put them in a hot oven.
I accept Paypal, the quick and secure online payment option. Items will not be shipped until payment has cleared. This includes e-cheques. Once items have been shipped you cannot cancel your order.
I take great care to ensure your purchase is securely packed. I employ a 'double boxing' technique - the pottery is bubble wrapped, than put in a close fitting box (or cardboard wrap), then put in a larger box with padding between the boxes. I recycle packing materials as much as possible. I have not had a breakage yet.
If I have charged more than the actual postage cost to send your purchase by more than $2, I will refund the difference via Paypal immediately upon shipping. Shipping costs reflect the nature of heavy and fragile items. I use Australia Post to ship orders unless requested otherwise. If you would like insurance or registered post, please convo me to discuss prices. I base my estimates on the Australia Post online calculator - you can view this here; http://auspost.com.au/products-and-services/postage-assessment-calculator.html
I make every effort to post your order within 2 working days of receiving payment. I usually manage it the next working day.
Note to buyers outside Australia: Any customs and tax expenses are incurred at the buyers expense. Please allow plenty of time for delivery and extra time at Xmas. Keep in mind that Australia is far away from most of the rest of the world and delivery may take a little longer than you are used to. Times to the US for example vary greatly from approx. 7 to 21 days. I cannot be responsible for any delay to delivery caused by customs processes.
Refunds and Exchanges
I do not accept exchanges so please choose carefully.
Here are the two situations where I will refund your purchase;
1) I will do refunds in situations where the item sent is different to what you have purchased, ie the item is not as described in the listing in terms of size, colour or form.
2) The item is broken in the post on its way to you. I take extreme care to pack purchases securely so they arrive intact and have not yet had a breakage but if the worst does happen you will be refunded the purchase price (+ shipping).
Additional Policies and FAQs
I accept special requests, so please feel free to ask about what I can do for you.
