Deb Allen Felt-maker
DebAllenFelter's Shop Policies
I grew up sewing, knitting, needlepointing, embroidering, and quilting and was always on the lookout for a way to combine the fiber arts. On a whim, I took a felting class and immediately fell in love with both the process and the end products. My inspiration for each Frippery comes from something that I have seen in my gardens or on a hike in the mountains or elsewhere in nature.
Every Frippery has its own distinct personality and you should expect to become enchanted by it. The pillows can make a piece of furniture become a gallery. And as for the bags, be ready!!!! They have a way of starting a conversation. People want to take a good look at them, and touch them, and marvel at them.
My preference is Paypal (just because they make it so easy) but credit cards are accepted. If you are unable to pay by one of these methods, please contact me and we will see what we can work out. I will also consider layaway with a 50% deposit, but we need to talk up front and agree on terms.
I live in rural Vermont and do not have daily access to a shipping center, but know that your Frippery will be anxious to meet you so will make every attempt to get your Frippery to you ASAP. Every shipment will go via UPS or FEDEX unless you ask otherwise. The shipping fee includes insurance.
Refunds and Exchanges
Every Frippery has been taken into their new home and treated well and has not asked to come back. If you have the exception to this, you will have to return the UNUSED and unhappy Frippery within 7 days of receipt, at your expense. I can send color samples to you prior to purchase if you need them.
Over time, if you find that a bead needs replacing or that the lining has been stained and you want it replaced, please contact me and we can figure out the best remedy for your Frippery.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Each Frippery is handfelted using methods that are centuries old, and each is a one of a kind item. I make use of differing combinations of wool, silk, angelina (that's the shiny stuff), beads and bows, although not all are present in all bags. All of the beads are metal, glass, or crystal and are individually hand sewn and knotted, most are also glued. Most of the bags are lined in dupioni silk, and most of the pillows also are made of dupioni silk.
Like other wool products, Fripperies may pill or get a little fuzzy from time to time ~ simply take a pair of very sharp scissors and carefully snip!
I recommend you store your bag where it is safe from little critters that like nibbling or nesting in the fabric.
DRY CLEAN ONLY
By the way, most of the bags are as light as air - people are always surprised when they pick one up!
The drawstring closure is very simple to use and the string itself is embellished with beads that match the bag.
I am often asked if I can make a custom bag. The answer is, yes, given enough time (6-8 weeks) and artistic license (you have to trust that I will make a beautiful one once I understand what you are looking for). Contact me if you'd like to discuss it.
