Welcome to my selection of Fine Art Photographic Prints. This shop showcases some of my personal work and it is my hope that you will enjoy viewing them as much as I have enjoyed creating them.
What is Fine Art?
Fine is taken from the Latin meaning the end, in fine = in the end. For me the word Fine in Fine Art is not meant to infer better or finer quality but rather that the artist, in this case me, considers the piece a final or finished work.
About the Photographs
The prints that I am offering for sale are my own personal images and most have been extensively re-engineered in Photoshop. They are photos that for one reason or another I personally really like and am very proud to have taken.
All of the prints start as a single photograph. To this photograph I then add layers of texture. These layers are blended individually until I get the finish that I am after. These layers are always other photographs. Some are photos of textured paper and others of wood, stone etc. I rarely use the same combination of textures twice because each original photograph responds differently each time as do the layers to each other. It’s a very organic process and not one which can be automated. I often start the process with an idea of the look I am after – and sometimes if I am really lucky I sometimes achieve it.
About the Prints
Each is printed on high quality paper using archival Inks. These papers have a rated archival period of over 75 years. Except for larger custom sized prints each print is made by myself to the highest standard using a color calibrated setup and I take great care to make the final print as good as it can be.
