Dovetail Designs Contracting has been creating quality handcrafted woodworking for over thirty years. Spike, the owner of Dovetail Designs, is committed to making unique pieces for you to enjoy for years to come. Whether it is a piece of furniture or a musical instrument, Spike excels at capturing the importance of form, function, and the interaction of the two with every work. His history as a log home constructor has led to a vast understanding of the importance of strength in structure and beauty in natural organic forms. Each of his pieces of furniture are made with this structural and aesthetic knowledge in mind. Additionally, as a self-taught guitar, mandolin, violin, banjo, and dulcimer player, Spike also has a great understanding of the physics of music. He has been part of multiple bands before and has shared his musical knowledge widely. He made his first guitar when he was eighteen and has continued to refine and progress with his acoustic designs ever since.
In each of his creations, Spike truly hopes to produce a useful, beautiful, and lasting product.
