Once Upon A Time... I was given an old and crumbling vintage pattern book. It had coffee-ring stains and what I am pretty sure are dog-bite marks on the cover but inside were some gorgeous vintage patterns. Even better, they could be made in any size.

As a plus size woman who loves vintage looks I know just how hard it is to find vintage clothes and patterns in larger sizes. In fact, with the way clothings sizes are all messed up I think it's hard for everyone.. but almost impossible for plus sized people to find the good stuff - demand outstrips supply.

I knew that I had stumbled across a real treasure, so the thought of keeping these patterns to myself was unthinkable!

After a lot of very boring and tedious (but necessary) legal investigations I was able to determine the conditions under which I would be able to get these patterns back out into the world... and Embonbpoint Vintage was born!

Embonpoint is an old french word that literally means "of good shape" - it was used in the Victorian era and earlier to describe someone who was pleasantly plump.. :) You pronounce it "On-bwon-pah!" :)

Since my initial find I have scoured the world for other suitable sources of patterns, and after a lot of work I now have more than 500 different patterns in the store to choose from, with more being added just as soon as my fingers can make them!

Each pattern is scanned, cleaned up, added to, changed, explanations made, illustrations fixed up and packaged for sale personally by me. I am a one-woman operation :)

All my patterns are sold in PDF format so they can be sent anywhere in the world instantly.
