As an artist, I create in various mediums. What you see in Enchanticals is only a very small representation of what I create.
However, now, my preference and specialty are predominantly in 1:12th or miniature dollhouse scale…miniature items, especially furniture, altered and/or made by me.
Although Enchanticals specializes in miniatures, my creations are not only limited to them. I create in various other "enchanted" mediums, including items for Fashion Dolls in scales 1:6th and 1:4th.
My miniature creations, such as furniture or dioramas, are filled with original one-of-a-kind pieces, all well crafted, handmade, and altered and created from nature and found objects.. I number, sign, and date each piece.
Each miniature creation is based upon a central theme, idea or character and each altered found object created for that piece supports the main theme. My themes and characters for my creations run the gamut…from enchanted to whimsy to fairytale to wizard to horror/spooky to realism. These themes do not have a season or Holiday associated with them; I create them year round.
For almost every miniature creation, I write an original story entitled, “A Little Tale”. My little tales are fables which either recount the personal life history of the previous “owner” of the piece of furniture or diorama or the origin, history or mystery surrounding the miniature item I created.
My little tales are a way for me to bring my creations to life for the audience and also to draw them into and become part of, not only the items created, but also my enchanted little world, Enchanticals.
I make my creations one at a time… from start to finish. There is no assembly line in my workshop. No elves either. For this reason, each piece is truly one-of a-kind. I keep no written “recipes” for the colors I use nor written instructions for the any of the items I create. I create using nature, as well as found objects which I have available at the time. Thus, none of my finished pieces can be duplicated.
My goals with each of my creations are to make them useable and enjoyable works of art; to enchant, surprise, and delight the audience; to challenge the audience to use their imagination to discover the unique and creative pieces made from found objects; and to have them feel amazement and wonderment at how the original purpose of each found object or item from nature has changed and has become something else entirely.
My creations, stories or “A Little Tale”, ideas, and work are my original creations and my personal creative property and may not be copied, reproduced, republished, edited, downloaded, displayed, modified, transmitted, licensed, transferred, sold, stolen, plagiarized, reprinted, resold or used in any manner or medium, distributed or uploaded in any way without my prior written permission. My work does not belong to the public domain.
Even though my enchanted creations have a theme, the audience is free to use their own imagination and create their own little tale about the piece and to use my creation in a completely different way than I intended. That is the beauty of imagination and creativity!
