Welcome
Hi everyone! My name is Kathleen Schmid and welcome to Fat Cat Crafts! If you're looking for cool quirky items, you've come to the right place! In this shop you'll find whimsical, and completely functional, pincushion cats for sewers or decorative pieces for the non-sewers. Pick your favorite profession, activity, historical period costume, etc and I'll make it into a cat pincushion. And if you don't see a character that's perfect for you, just contact me with what attire/character you'd like your animal to be and I'll see what I can do for you.
All the items in my shop are handcrafted and made from my own patterns.

Payment
At this time I only except Paypal in US dollars. You do not need a PayPal Account to pay for your items through PayPal:
You can choose the PayPal Option during checkout. After you submit your order click the "Pay Now" button. Scroll Down and you will see the option to pay with a Credit or Debit Card WITHOUT having to sign up for a PayPal account.

If you are still having any issues with PayPal, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will attempt to assist you in anyway that I can.
Payment must be made in full and cleared before I will ship out the item.
Payments must be received within 3 business days.
If you purchase something and change your mind before paying please let me know and I will cancel the transaction. I will NOT leave negative feedback for canceled transactions. I might, however, leave negative feedback for buyers who don't contact me to cancel the transaction.
Shipping
For order within the US I use USPS First-Class mail or Priority mail, depending on how many cats I'm shipping in your order, with delivery confirmation. For international orders I use First-Class Mail International Package. For in stock items, I will ship your item out no later than 3 business days after I receive payment. For Made-to-Order items, I will ship your item out within 7 business days after I receive payment. You will also receive a delivery confirmation e-mail on the day it ships. Domestic orders will be given an estimated arrival date.
If you prefer an upgraded shipping option, contact me and I will figure out the new shipping cost and I will send a Paypal invoice with the extra costs. The extra cost will be at the expense of the buyer and payment, through Paypal, will be expected no later than 3 days.
Your item will arrive to you wrapped in tissue paper, placed into a plastic bag and packed securely with Styrofoam peanuts in a cardboard box. The majority of my packing materials are reused or recycled materials.
If you would like a small note included such as, "Happy Birthday Jane!" , etc. please include what you would like your message to read in "Note to Seller". I will then write it out on a piece of paper and attach it to the cat with an extra ball point pin.
If your Etsy and PayPal address differ, please let me know which address to ship to in the “Note to Seller" during checkout. If you do not notify me and I cannot reach you within 72 hours after payment we will ship the item to the address furnished during Etsy checkout.
For Christmas/Holiday items: To ensure that your item reaches you by Christmas, please place orders for all currently stocked items (within the United States) by December 18th. I will ship out the orders as soon as possible, but the post office has put the cutoff date at December 20th for getting it to you by December 25th. The cutoff for international orders are December 2nd for Central & South America and Africa. And December 9th for everywhere else. ***You have to order "Made-to-Order" items at least a week before the cutoff dates so that I can have enough time to make and ship them out.*** PLEASE DON'T WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE!! Everyone knows the post office gets swamped around this time. To insure proper delivery of your package please order earlier than later!
Refunds and Exchanges
If you are dissatisfied with your item for any reason please contact me within 7 days of arrival date. At this time, I am unable to give refunds but will give exchanges if the item arrives to you damaged.
Additional Policies and FAQs
In order to show my entire cast of pincushion characters, I will be placing up some "Made-to-Order" items. If it is a made-to-order item, it will be displayed in the title and description. I will make up that style character and ship it out to you within a few days of the order. The item that will be shipped to you may vary slightly from the example photo. But they will always stay true to the essence of that specific item. If nothing is mentioned in the title or description about a "Made-to-Order" item, then that item is currently in stock and you will receive the exact item in the photo.
Please note, that since all my items are hand made, sizes may not be uniform. Some of the felt I purchase off the bolt and others I purchase in 9x12 inch sheets. The cats that are made out of the 9x12 sheets will be slighter smaller due to less materials to work with. Please know, that I put the same effort and care into every cat (or other creation) that I make.
Since I dye some of my pom poms, the color of the pom pom might not match perfectly to the felt used or the body. I try to match the colors as closely as possible.
If you need anything custom made just let me know and I'll see what I can do for you. Or even if you just want a red bow instead of a blue. Depending on the supplies at hand, I can switch out certain colors. If you want an item that has already been sold, contact me and I'll make up another one for you. If you have any other questions or concerns don't hesitate to contact me.
Any item can be included with a personalized note! Just let me know at time of purchase what you'd like your note to say.
Unfortunately due to the rising or discontinuing of certain supplies that I use to create my items, my prices are subject to change. But if I quote you a price for a custom item and my prices go up before I finish your item, I will still price your item as the original quoted price.
