I love digging for treasure. I will get down in a box of junk, the thrift store, or at an Estate Sale. But, you have to get dirty, time is spent (sometimes hours, or multiple trips to the same thrift store). Many of times you find no treasures.

Some items can be damaged from cleaning. If an item is particularly precious, or I believe I may damage it, I will not clean it. This will always be noted in the listing.

Clothing:
Usually. I follow the directions on the tag. If there's no tag or it is no longer visible, I will wash cotton, polyester, and casuals on cold, and dry on low. Wool is cleaned with Eucalan. Special fabrics (wool, silk, linen, etc) I will air out and steam.

Some older vintage items, ceramics, and housewares can contain lead. You can Google for more info on the risks of lead dust and eating off of lead dish-ware. 1980s and 1990s are generally safe, particularly if they are Made in the USA.

For my own peace of mind I sometimes test for lead with 3M lead test sticks.

Items are tested on the bottom in an inconspicuous place. For mugs I test both on the edge where there is no glaze and on the glaze itself. If there is painting on the mug/ item I may also test that area.

These aren't definitive so if you have questions please run your own tests before eating off of vintage items. Please be safe. :)

If an item I sell tests positive for lead it will be clearly labeled on the listing. Do not use this item for consumables. Keep item dust free when displaying. Lead dust can get in the air. Again, Google for more info.

Do you test all of your items for lead?
No. It's not cost effective to do so. If I know something is very old and a potential risk for lead I test it so I can protect myself and family when storing.

Assume the item was NOT tested if it is not on the listing.

Vintage sizing is wildly different from modern sizing. Please look at measurements carefully. Message with questions.

But hey, if you hate it or if it just doesn't suit you, return it!
