A statement of disappearing species.

I started a unique serial of reversed painting on glass in 2006. I use petri dishes, these laboratory supplies used to culture cells (bacterial, animal, plant or fungus). I paint inside one of the two parts of the box, with different kind of painting (acrylics, oil paints, inks...)and other components (sands, pigments, cotton...). Every Petri's box is one of a kind, dated and signed. The box (top or bottom) is easily fixed vertically on the wall with a simple nail, blocked by a silicon band stuck on the inside edge. Thus hanging process is invisible.

My main concern as an artist and as a citizen of the world is the impact of growing presence of humankind on Earth that makes animal and vegetable species disappearing. What kind of fancyful will people have when Nature will be reduced to a couple of utilitarian animals? My creatures (animals mainly)are blurred, transformed by oblivion, and sometimes unreal. This is the ambivalence of Science: it both creates and distroy.
