Friggjasetr's Shop Announcement

Welcome to Friggjasetr, a small cozy farm filled with beautiful animals and much joyfulness, love, peace and tranquility. I suspect you find the name Friggjasetr a little strange, and if you are interested in finding out how it came about and what it means, you are welcome to stop by my blog http://www.friggjasetr.com
I have recently changed the logo, but that's all that is changed. Everything else remains the same.

I have loved animals my whole life, and they have always been a big part of me. This, combined with a tremendous joy using my hands for any type of crafting or DIY projects, is a perfect match for small farming. I also try to be as environmentally aware and friendly as I possibly can, which means big emphasis on recycling, and tending to the land and animals in a holistic manner, which in short means no chemicals or pesticides as far as possible, and reusing and recycling whatever I can. Having studied the use of herbs, homeopathy and various other holistic methods, I try to treat my animals, myself and my surroundings accordingly. I’m also a Reiki practitioner, which I find very useful. All the animals love it.

Currently residing here at the farm are 3 beautiful fiber alpacas, 3 adorable Nigerian Dwarf girls, 16 very busy laying hens and 4 beautiful cats.

In my shop I offer raw alpaca fiber, alpaca roving, alpaca yarn either 100% or in various blends, various kinds of handmade items, knitted, felted, spun or sewn, and at times some botanicals and body products.

If I use a mill for processing my fiber, I use Still River Mill in CT. It’s a local family run mill, and I can deliver the fiber myself. They are members of the Northeast Organic Farming Association, and aim to conform to organic wool processing practices and standards. This means using environmentally friendly, low impact, and organic detergents for scouring, organic processing oils, water soluble grease and oil to lubricate the machines, and using appropriate treatment of waste water.

Thank you for stopping by, and taking the time to read this. I’m always interested in finding like minded people and would love to hear from you. If you are looking for something special, and can’t find it in my shop, let me know and we will see what we can do, or I can maybe suggest other alternatives or shops. I do have a full time job in addition to this, which means limited time for crafting, unfortunately.
