Tempting Teapots! In time for Spring!
With porcelain clay, I throw each piece individually on a potter's wheel. I'm making lively, functional, animated work, as pleasurable and interesting to the hand as to the eye. Functional and decorative, the pots are fired in the soda kiln I built where flame and kiln atmosphere decorate the pots. Vibrant glazes are chosen for their responsiveness to the kiln atmosphere. I'm looking for my pots to be good companions for ordinary activities, eating, drinking, arranging flowers. They really come alive when they find a home in your home. Perhaps, when a hand embraces a cup made with the intention, compassion arises in the heart.
