Gothic Beagle, dark fashion for your pets was created in 2006 by shop owner Marie Winton.
When Gothic Beagle started out I was an owner of a beagle/basset hound mix, I found it hard to find things that would fit his unusual size at local pet stores, so I took my sewing skills that I learned at a young age from my grandmother and got to work creating my own designs to fit him. I would take projects to my day job at the time and work on them during breaks/lunch, which grabbed the interests of my fellow co-workers and before I knew it I had requests for custom orders for other dog related items. From this point, I decided to take a friends advice and started making a bunch of pet clothing in my spare time, adding my love for the dark sub culture, Goth, Halloween and all things Macabre to the item and started vending at local events, and selling online, etc... from 2006 Gothic Beagle has taken off and expanded. We have been a vendor at many events (ie: Bats Day Black Market, Convergence, PDX Zombie Prom, Portland Halloween Bazaar, Vampires Masquerade Ball, Steampunk Soiree', Mourning Market, Spirit of Halloweentown, Van Pop, and so much more), some items sold locally in a few small shops, and we even had a mention in Gothic Beauty Magazine, and had our pumpkin dog bed featured in Seattle's, City Dog Magazine.
