I try to create interesting, rustic pieces. The wood typically has knots, voids, mineral streaks, and spalting. It all adds uniqueness and beauty to the finished product. Some of my wood is from an on-line supplier in S.Carolina and I have been able to partner with a local tree service. Many times I just pick up wood from the ground. This gives me the opportunity to hand-select wood native to North Florida.

My jewelry and key rings start as a chunk of rough wood and are completely handcrafted by me. When making a bowl, if I use a food-safe finish I mark the bottom with an "F".
