What Is Gold Vermeil & Gold Filled?

Vermeil is sterling silver that has been gold plated. Our vermeil is plated with 14K gold. The difference between vermeil, and gold filled, is in the thickness of the gold and the base metal used. In vermeil, the base is sterling silver.
Gold filled jewelry is jewelry composed of a solid layer of gold mechanically bonded to a brass.

General tips for gold vermeil and gold filled jewelry:

Store your jewelry separately so it doesn't scratch other jewelry.
The best way to store in a dry airtight container,
Always last on, first off - Jewelry should only be put on after washing and applying any makeup, hair spray, gels, lotions or perfume.
Try to protect any jewelry from harsh chemicals, extreme temperatures and sunlight.
Avoid wearing any jewelry when swimming. The chlorine and sea salt can cause damage to various gemstones and metals.
