I began making candles as a hobby in 2003 and soon after had people requesting to purchase them as gifts. Over time I began selling them at various locally owned stores in Santa Barbara and later expanded my product line and launched this website. I hope you will enjoy my candles and soap as much as the locals have! My goal is to make my candles as unique as possible, thus color & scent combinations change frequently and decopaged patterns and photos are seldom duplicated.

New for Fall 2009:
Homemade by Hoyt now offers 100% soy candles in decorative recycled glass jars. I've cleaned up my collection of glass jars and other found containers, added decopaged artwork from recycled magazines, calendars & more, and filled them with vegan wax & my traditional exotic scents.

My pillar candles are made with paraffin wax, high quality fragrance oils, and hand mixed dye for color. They burn evenly and slowly. The 100% cotton wicks have no additives (no lead wire core) and help ensure a safe, non-toxic burn.

Each bar of Homemade by Hoyt Vegan Hemp Soap is made from a base of coconut, palm, and hemp seed oils and blended with oatmeal. The use of hemp seed oil provides your body with a daily dose of Omega-3 essential fatty acids and the oatmeal provides a natural exfoliant and moisture barrier for the skin.
