In 2003, a friend gave me a beautiful, beaded necklace. I loved it and asked her for the "recipe" and immediately went out and bought supplies to make more as gifts for other people. The beading and stringing phase did not last long, however. I soon wanted something durable and malleable at the same time. Beading evolved into wire-work and still, I was still yearning for something else. Eventually, after some fabulous classes (with Iris Sandkuhler), workshops and the internet, metalwork opened its doors to me and I was hooked.
By 2010, I was ready to make a leap from a corporate job to the world of art jewelry. I am in awe and in love with this new job. The business end, well, there's room for improvement. The creative end, well, I wish there were more hours in the day.
You'll find Hsu-Lee Designs jewelry to be metal-focused - primarily in sterling silver. I hope you visit often - whether my Etsy site or home site. Follow Hsu-Lee Designs to see my work evolve and embrace other metals as well.
