Christmas Delivery: For all items purchased after Cyber Monday (November 30), please send me a convo to confirm if the item can be made and shipped in time for Christmas.

Irish Hooks & Yarn will offer a variety of hand-crochet items, but the raglan sweater for children is still my favorite. My children, nieces and nephews called these “Name Sweaters” as their names were crossed stitched on the pocket of the crocheted hoodie.

Today, the “Name Sweater” may be a misnomer as it is usually personalized with the child’s initials, favorite college colors and name, or the most popular version, the Paddy Green and Aran sweater with IRISH! There are many possibilities so email me to discuss custom orders and the smallest size (12 months) zippers up the back!

Thanks to a number of hockey fans, the Hockey Skate booties are a very popular item in the Irish Hooks & Yarn shop. The design is partly original (the blade) and partly from a commercial pattern. I am retired Hockey Mom … although my son continues to play in men’s leagues and my daughter coaches at a prep school and plays on a women's team. I fashioned the blade after their hockey skates and thanks to my Esty customers I can’t seem to make them fast enough!

It seems that 2009 is the Year of the Earflap hat for Irish Hooks & Yarn! Thanks to the generosity of two of my customers who are photographers and have sent me pictures, my hats have been mailed to 44 states (still looking for AK, DE, MT, RI, WY, SD) 9 Canadian provinces and Australia Germany, Ireland and the UK!

Irish Hooks & Yarn hand-crocheted items are made in a smoke-free environment. Sizing follows the Standards & Guidelines for Knitting and Crocheting (www.yarnstandards.com). Information on the type of yarn and washing instructions will be included with the description of each item for sale.
