I just loved this statue of Mary that I found in the basement kitchen of a Catholic Church. The colors were vibrant and the statue was so inviting. I just knew that I had to take a photograph of this lovely Kitchen Madonna.

Medium: This photograph is printed in the style of TTV (or Through The Viewfinder), which is when a photograph is shot through an older camera viewfinder with a modern digital camera. Photographs are intentionally not quite as crisp or clean as a modern photograph. These photographs will have the black outer edges in the printing (as shown here). This photograph is printed by a professional printing lab on Kodak Metallic paper. The metallic paper allows for the colors to really pop.

The original painting that this print was made from is 6x6. The original painting (which will be available for purchase) was made with scrapbooking papers, acrylic paints, artist inks, cardstock, stamping ink, and laser printer ink (for quote). This listing is for a print (copy) of that painting.

After I read this C.S. Lewis quote somewhere, the very first thing that popped into my head is, "That has to be a painting." It wouldn't leave me alone until I did it, and mocked me when it was a handwritten post it note on my inspiration board. I was thrilled with the way both the painting and the print from it came out.

Size: The paper is 8x8. You may chose to have the whole image by 8x8 or you can chose the one that has a 6.75x6.75 image with a thin black border around it and then a white border making for a total of 8x8. Image is printed by a professional printer on Kodak Endura paper. (I will also be putting up a listing for a 10x10 image of this. Inspiration: During a crafting weekend, one of my sisters was sure that some people were "giving her the stink eye," as she kept telling us. So, inspired by the movie Juno (although it wasn't exactly the line from the movie), we kept saying to one another, "I think your girlfriend gave me the stink eye."

Before Christmas, my sister asked if I would make her a mixed media painting as a gift. I kept trying to think of something sweet and sisterly, but instead, I just knew that "I think your girlfriend gave me the stink eye," was the perfect choice.

This is a print of an original painting which includes a stanza from a poem by Anne Campbell that just really strikes me as a mother. My life would have looked different if I hadn't had my children. Maybe I would be eating at a sidewalk cafe in Paris or I'd have enough money for the $300 pair of shoes that I want. Instead, my kids are that meal in Paris and that $300 pair of shoes.

When I showed the painting to my 10 year old son after it was done, he said he liked it, but didn't get it. When I told him that it means that I made a decision to have them instead of those other things, his eyes filled with tears and he threw his arms around me.

Size: Image measures approximately 7" x 8.75". It is then digitally matted to 8"x10" for easier framing.
