I usually rate my vintage items in the following manner:
Mint: No flaws, like new.
Excellent: Very minor metal wear, if any. Crisp clear stones. No obvious flaws.
Very good: Some wear from normal use or natural aging process. Nothing that detracts from the overall beauty of the piece.
Good: Heavy or significant wear areas but nothing broken or missing.
Fair: Needs some restoration.
