The shop is the result of a long maturation process. My late mother was a seamstress who worked from home. My mom's two sisters were also seamstresses. They would often work all together in my mom's kitchen.
I grew up watching them sewing, tailoring, measuring dresses and clothes for other people. I think I picked up the skills and passion for the trade by being surrounded with these amazingly skilled women.

Later in life, I was a teacher and I used to make crafts to sell during school fundraisers. A lot of people then encouraged me to start a business - which I did.
I started a line of children clothing. Business was fine and the shop grew to eventually +20 employees. However, we were unable to compete with cheaper made clothes. We simply did not have the economies of scale that very large corporations have. Today clothes are just a commodity.

The original shop closed, I was left with some sewing machines. Old customers would call me back for special orders so I kept working from my basement.

Today, I reverted back to crafts. Specifically handmade bags and linens with traditional Lebanese elements. Again, I believe this was a result of the environment I am in. I live in a Lebanese town called Zouk Mikael. The town was an important silk production center in the middle ages. It has kept a strong culture of craftsmanship. I am once again surrounded by beautiful designs from the past. I take pride using a new approach with a traditional fabric - and make it relevant once again.

Etsy has given me access to a worldwide audience with a keen eye for the beautiful. I hope I will not disappoint.
