Artist Bio:
Michelle Harris has been creating jewelry for as long as she can remember. As a child she grew up with two generations of jewelers before her and found herself making mold injections and crawling around on the floor to find fallen diamonds in her parent’s Connecticut jewelry store. She was inspired at an early age to incorporate antique finds into her creations, as she would often visit her grandparent’s antique shop in northern New Hampshire and watched her grandfather as he repaired antique clocks in his workshop. Cogs and watch faces littered the space as a house full of cookoos chimed at each hour. These ingrained memories drive Michelle’s obsession with her work.

With over 10 years of designing for boutiques, Michelle has amassed a large selection of vintage and antique oddities. Mostly focusing on using antique watch parts from the early 1900’s, she keeps a keen eye open for well crafted materials. In 2006 she began to focus her work into select collections coming out seasonally. Finally in 2008 she updated her business name to mirror the essence of the materials she uses, naming it Once Lost. Michelle strives to utilize her background in design and metalsmithing to create unique adornments.
