Hello! My name is Dani, I make stars out of paper and put them in jars instead of studying. Everything you see before you was created by my own hands (with the help of my fabulous friends and their creative ideas) and through my own sincere enjoyment.
I learned how to do origami when I was in the third grade, and since then I have always had to do something with my hands. I learned how to make paper stars when I was in high school, and a few of my friends started calling me ‘Star Girl’, which is where the name comes from. Shortly after, my cousin suggested I make garlands for people out of these stars (which make great Christmas presents, just ask every member of my family) and then she introduced me to Etsy, which is how I have spent the majority of my life since then. When I went to college, I met my suitemate Ellen who introduced me to an old Chinese tradition that school girls make paper stars to give to the person they ‘like-like’. It comes from an old Chinese movie, apparently. A jar of stars means ‘I love you’. I have taken this idea to heart and voila! Jars of stars.
Due to a few visits to the US Postal Service and UPS store, it has come to my attention that shipping costs are kind of ridiculous. I’ll be using the US Postal Service from now on. It’ll cost 5$ to ship the small star jars, and any piece of jewelry, but about 10.50$ to ship anything else. I’m sorry, but the USPS is expensive. UPS is worse, trust me.
