Announcement Rag Rugs handmade in the historic city of Gettysburg, PA

In my rug store you will find a wide variety of rugs that are handmade from recycled cotton sheets. I have a variety of rugs, some that are perfect accent to a traditional home and some that are colorful that would be a fun for a nursery or children's bedroom. All rugs are hand crocheted, which is an old craft that I love bringing back to life. These rugs are unique and cannot be found in a box store. My rug store was formally known as karenhugheskreations.

I just want thank you for all of your support and to let my customers know they are helping me support a good cause, where I donate a percent of my sales to St. Judes

My Dream

Here is my story of how I ended up opening my business for selling hand crocheted rugs.

I worked for the same firm for 28 years. For years I did love what I did but there was always a part of me that couldn't wait to leave every day to get home and yes crochet. I found when I crocheted I would not watch the clock and I found that I would lose track of time pretty quickly. Well after my 28 years, my company merged with a bigger company and they relocated..which meant a five hour day commute for me and I did it for six months and then one day my darling husband turned to me and said do you remember we said one day we should retire to Gettysburg, he said that he felt it was time. I asked what would I do for work in Gettysburg and he said that I kept telling him that my dream would be to crochet for a living.

I have been crocheting for a living for a number of years now, I started off by crocheting sweaters and then I found I love to make rugs. I love how each one is unique and all of the different colors I can make. I love receiving emails from my customers that they brought a rug for a nursery, a little girls bedroom or how they brought a Christmas gift for their Grandmothers and my rugs bring back memories of when they were little girl's.

I love what I do and have never been happier and I can not thank my husband enough for his encouragement and support
