My Lampwork boro beads are artisan handmade from glass and love, each bead is made by me, LLuvia Brito, one by one. I offer designer lampworked glass bead sets and focal beads.
Thank you for visiting my Etsy Store! I make all of my own glass beads. My glass beads are made from borosilicate glass; I use the highest quality colors from Glass Alchemy and Northstar. Each bead is made using rods of glass and a torch, then they are annealed for lasting quality in a kiln. Each lampwork bead is one of a kind and makes life a little bit more special!
My bead making philosophy is that handmade beads should be unique but still manageable. What I mean by this is that I want my beads to be easy to design jewelry with, and more importantly they should be comfortable to wear! This is why I use small mandrels, 1/16", which gives my beads 1.6mm holes. I also tend to make petite bead sets and focals that won't overwhelm!
Did you know handmade beads can be eco-friendly? My primary glass supplier, Glass Alchemy, uses only green energy in the production of the colored glass I use to make beads. They have also been awarded a RecycleWorks award for "serving as a business role model for others, reducing, reusing, recycling, making sustainable purchasing choices and going beyond recycling by participating in other sustainable practices."
