Magical Pagan Ceramics for your Home & Garden
LastChantsStudio's Shop Policies
Thanks for visiting Last Chants Studio.
Online selling was a relatively new experience for me after decades of only doing gallery shows and fair circuits. It's been surprisingly successful, considering that most people would be more comfortable if they could actually handle a pottery item before they buy it. I try to photograph the angles so you can get a closer look at the inside, back or bottom of each piece. It's also important that you see the glaze color and tones in close ups exactly the way it is at my end. Contact me if you want me to send more pictures or describe the colors in familiar terms.
Pottery can be heavy, particularly when it comes to shipping. Since I live in the NW corner of the USA, I list what the item's packed priority weight rate would be to the zone furthest, which is 8 zones away from me. If you give me your zip code before you purchase, I can check and adjust it if you're zone is closer. I'd also be happy to look up the USPS international rate to other countries.
I appreciate your trust and willingness to purchase from me and support small businesses like mine. The internet is a huge place these days and not easy to distinguish who is really making a hand made item, or if it's outsourced mass produced factory goods. (Etsy currently has 19,749,641 items for sale)
I really like the new "About page" Etsy has recently created for us to use. You can get a more personal glimpse there of my home and studio. Thanks so much for stopping by!
I apologize in advance regarding any Etsy "oh oh's" and crashes from server overload that occur site wide on Etsy. :) I can always be contacted via my main e-mail addy since it's the one I check multiple times throughout a day.

Since etsy's payment processor called Direct Checkout often doesn't always work properly, please continue to use PayPal.
Want me to me hold an item for an agreed upon time, reserved in your name? No problem. I also can arrange a payment plan on a larger order.
Within 3 days of the payment received, (usually much sooner) your item will be shipped. And if you want your item sent to a different address than yours, please note in the "message to seller" during checkout. (If it is to be surprise or gift from you to your friend, tell me the message you would like to have me include, before I pack the item for shipping.)
GOOD NEWS! The USPS is now providing free insurance on all priority packages if the stated value is $50 and under. I will increase insurance coverage for orders $51 and up.
Upon receipt of payment, I will be shipping your purchase USPS PRIORITY or 1st class parcel for items under 13 ounces. (And both of these will have a tracking number)
I pack carefully (35 years experience) and will use as much recycled material as possible. Heavier items (4 to 5 pounds and up) could go USPS Standard if you prefer, since it can run $35 or more for a heavy or oversize box to go priority and they usually don't fit in a flat rate box anyway. I'll refund your Paypal account whenever possible if your zone is closer to me than the one I use to estimate my shipping cost in the item listing.
I will include any flyers or descriptive stories I've written that pertain to your item and USPS tracking will follow your package so you will know when to expect it. (And I would love to see your feedback after you receive your item and any pics you might include showing the sacred space you create!)
NOTE TO OVERSEAS BUYERS: Let me know if you would like me to look up the exact rate for international shipping to your country. As a consolation perk I will throw in 1 or 2 pocket charms to offset that nasty shipping charge!
Refunds and Exchanges
Items can be returned or exchanged within 7 days, at the buyer's expense. I'll refund the item's price, not including the cost of shipping. Returned goods must be packed carefully and arrive in original condition.
If there is a loss or damage due to shipping, contact me and the USPS right away if insurance claims are to be filed due to postal service mishandling. (Save the packaging for them to inspect.) I've had very good luck during my 35 or so years of shipping I've done, with only one breakage, but hey! Meteors happen.
Additional Policies and FAQs
Now, about custom orders: Since I work by inspiration and with the materials I have at hand, I would rather just get your input or wish list and give you a heads-up if I already have...or am working on a piece that's style, color or symbol-wise like something you've mentioned. I often have many items drying or already bisque fired, but the glaze colors haven't been chosen yet. So don't be shy about asking me a question or making a suggestion. No obligation to buy :)
"Fun with creative clutter"? That certainly describes me, because when I take my photos, I often arrange my own plants or props that don't come with the order, to show scale and give you ideas.
However, many items do have descriptive flyers I've written and these will be included with your purchase.
Yes, and last but not least, I retain all copyrights, etc. to my artwork, graphics and written material created as originals for Last Chants Studio by Teri Raymond.
BTW, Orient really IS the name of the little *town* in N.E. Washington state where I live. Originally a mining settlement with many Chinese workers, it was surveyed over 100 years ago. My property is five 25' lots wide and to date, I've found many cool shards of china, bottles and a Davy Crockett Crackerjack ring. :)
