After quitting my job at Dow Chemical as a research technologist two weeks before Sept 11, 2001, I began working full-time on my fabric art. My sales dropped to nothing for over a year. I opened a small gallery/studio in our town, Midland, Michigan, and gave some classes and showed my work and other artists. I also had a booth at outdoor art shows all over the country. Now I teach my art quilting technique to quilters at guilds and quilt shows all over the world while continuing to work on my art quilts in my studio at home. Teaching gets me out of the house regularly and allows me to visit cities all over the world I might not ever have seen otherwise like Sitges near Barcelona in Spain and New Braunfels, Texas, near San Antonio. My students are brilliant and always excited to see what I can teach them! I have met hundreds of wonderful people who like to learn!
