Hey there! I'm a beeswax fanatic!!. Each painting is covered in it!
But it's cool because beeswax is very archival (meaning it will last a looong time!!) the colors won't fade or turn yellow. If your painting gets dusty, just feather dust it, or buff it with a soft tee. Buffing it does turn the painting into a glossy finish for a while but it will after time turn back to a matte finish. (Either way it's dreamy!)
If you are going to store your bees wax painting or ornaments, make sure you wrap it with wax paper. (It comes to you wrapped in this stuff!)
I love beeswax because you don't have a glare from the varnish, in any lighting the painting is clear! Beeswax does have inconsistencies that are viewable from the sides (I try to capture this in the listings) I think it just adds beautiful texture!!
Ooooh and all my paintings come with that beautiful bees wax smell!! So good!
