In 2011 I was diagnosed with throat cancer. I was to have radiation and chemo. I love to sew but thought I probable would not have the energy to do much sewing. I decided to look for something that I could sit and do in my recliner. So off to Michaels I went. I found the polymer clay and thought that might be something I could do. I bought the clay and two books on making small animals. I played with it a little but really didn't get in to it. Luckily I did not have a bad time with my treatment other then being tired. I could continue to sew and I did.
Treatment and surgery went well and I am doing fine now. So back to my story about the polymer clay. I had put it away but one day I was watching a craft show and the women was showing how to bend the clay for different effects. I was fascinated and pulled the box back out and blew off the dust .I started playing with the clay blending the colors and making beads' I was hooked. The sewing room is now my clay room.
I have taken a lot of tutorials from some great clay works people on Etsy and hopefully I have learned enough from them that you like my work. That is the story of how my shop opened and how I fell in love with polymer clay
