On a trip to Chicago, I came across a series of postcards spelling out 'CHICAGO' made up of elements of the great city's architecture. I tried to replicate the cards whilst in the city, and loved it so much I made it my task to create a London alphabet in my own city.

After more than a year, I have over 400 images with every letter of the alphabet covered, and a wide geographic expanse of this great world city also covered.

The letters are more than an alphabet though - they focus on the details in the city that are all around us, and bring to light the diversity and richness that we take for granted. People connect with the locations, try to link their loved ones with the places they knew, and spell out things special to them. It brings a smile when people recognise the places in the photos, or come to me with news of letters they found around them. In the end it's about where we live and who we live with, and cherishing the details in the world around us.
