Winged Mercy - Fine Art Archival Photographic Print by MarkForte

$85.00 USD

Winged Mercy
Murano (Venice), Italy

Archivally Matted and Unframed Print
(Watermarks and text on online images do not appear on actual print.)

I rarely photograph artworks, since a photograph can mask the original artistic statement. In this case, I was so struck by the composure and gentleness of the angel, that I felt compelled to show that through a polychrome print.

This image is one of fourteen from the “Vignettes” series which accompanies Venice: City of Illusions - Polychrome Series II. The subject matter is architectural and comes from several sites in islands of Venice. The Series has been exhibited at The Artistic Image gallery in Albuquerque, NM.

The images are sold individually, but can also be purchased as a complete set on request.

Print Details
- Mat size 11” x 14”
- Image size 6.75” x 8.55” on paper approx. 10”x11” with torn and deckle edges, paper-hinged to backing.
- Title, location, signature, and edition date (2008) appear on the front in pencil and are visible through the mat opening.
-The print is prepared to Museum archival standards using:
- 100% acid-free cotton rag watercolor paper using no chemical emulsions or brighteners
- 100% acid-free cotton rag museum board mat & backing (hinged together)
- Archival waterproof pigment inks rated at >275 years under proper display conditions (see http://www.wilhelm-research.com/hp/PhotosmartProB9180.html )
- Matted print is enclosed in a clear archival polypropylene sleeve.
- Includes a signed Certificate of Authenticity with image information, more details, and care instructions.

Sometimes we must simply force ourselves to look differently, and so discover hidden aspects of the city.

This image is one of fourteen from the “Vignettes” series which accompanies Venice: City of Illusions - Polychrome Series II. Unlike the Campanile, it also represents the city’s struggle against the sea, which in this image has eaten away at the moorings. The gondola, however, always rises above the surf, suggesting that Venice must always meet the challenge of the sea.

This image is one of fourteen from the “Vignettes” series which accompanies Venice: City of Illusions - Polychrome Series II.
