To create my fabric millefiori jewelry, I use 97% recycled cotton fabrics & fibers and hand dye much of it. After fully saturating the textiles with liquid glue I roll them up. The glue hardens and protects them and when dry, I slice the roll cross-section. These very durable, vivid and intricately detailed slices become earrings, pins and pendants, which are truly FABRIC JEWELS! Luscious bead embellishments add movement to many of them and further enhance their texture and depth. Because the sliced fabric is almost weightless, wearing my artwork is a pleasure! The beaded pieces have a bit more weight, but for their overall size, are still amazingly lightweight. You can find out lots more about my process on my website: meghannan.com
