MyMainePaintings' Shop Policies
I am a self-representing artist working in a studio on the coast of Maine. Welcome to my Gallery http://www.etsy.com/shop/MyMaine
My paintings are expressively painted, colorful, and all original. They are my interpretations of the world around me.
This gallery~shop accepts Major Credit Cards or use PayPal! Both ways are fast, convenient, and secure ways to make payment. SalesTax is charged to Maine buyers.
Please note that buyers outside of the United States may, prior to delivery, be charged taxes or other fees by their own governments when their package arrives. These charges are the responsibility of the buyer.
"Custom Item" payments: Upon completing a written agreement for a "cutom item", in other words, a commissioned work of art, an initial payment of one third the price of the finished work will be accepted by way of Credit Card or PayPal, both via Etsy.
Shipments are generally made via Priority Mail and Priority Mail International. My shipping prices reflect the United States Postal Services charges as of January 27, 2013 plus, in some cases, a small handling fee. Shipment is, in most cases, made through the U.S. Postal service 1-3 days (excluding weekends and U.S. Holidays)upon the receipt of. Insurance is included within the United States and Canada.
Please note that buyers outside of the United States may, prior to delivery, be charged taxes or other fees by their own governments when their package arrives.
I value my Canadian and overseas collectors and recognize the US Priority Mail shipping cost is high, albeit safer, in my opinion, than First-Class Mail International Package Service. For multiple purchases of small art, I will consider sending a package at the lower rate to Canada and any country within the European Union. Please contact me prior to making your purchase. Prices are generally quoted with using the PRIORITY FLAT RATE but may be less expensive with simple priority. I will be re-evaluating my shipping methods soon (Feb 7, 2013).
Refunds and Exchanges
I want you to be happy with your new work of art. IF YOU ARE NOT, please convo me prior to making any returns. The return must be made within seven days of your original receipt. You pay for the full return shipping and insurance. Your payment for price of the painting and tax will be refunded but the original shipping price will not.
The refund will be issued via PayPal or your credit card within a week of my receipt of the art in the same condition it was when it left the gallery.
Additional Policies and FAQs
All art is of ORIGINAL DESIGN and is created by Adrienne Kernan La Vallee. It is copyright with all rights of reproduction and distribution reserved. Permissions to reproduce images in full or in part must be obtained in writing.
CUSTOM ORDERS, ie, COMMISSIONS will be considered. Please review my style and technique and don't hesitate to convo (message) me with your proposal and include photographs. Pricing for special orders is slightly higher than paintings of a similar size in the gallery. Upon reaching agreement, in writing, an initial payment of one third the price of the finished work will be accepted by Credit Card or PayPal via Etsy. Payment due upon completion of the commission.
Please note that the color you see on your computer may vary on the actual painting or print. I have viewed my Etsy gallery using several different devices and the color and values looked different on each.
Quality oil paints, acrylics, and watercolors are used in my studio. I use no turpentine or varnishes in my paintings, simply refined lindseed and stand oils.
ARCHIVAL, Giclée prints are printed in house using an Epson printer and inks on Epson archival, matte finish, heavy weight paper. Each of my prints has a 100 years display life, (200 years if stored properly).
As with any work on paper, I suggest the print be framed using UV glass, and the backing, matting, and any tapes be acid free. As with any work on paper, it is best not to display this print in direct sunlight.
1.Paintings, prints, and drawings are unframed and are not matted unless otherwise noted. While many can be displayed unframed, it is recommended that you consider a frame that is best suited to your decor for a cleaner and more professional look.
2.Stretched canvases can be a little off square. Sometimes, canvas is stretched over a frame that has a tiny nick and this can appear on the edge. This is not considered a flaw.
PACKAGING AND HANDLING:
Each painting is carefully packaged to safely arrive at your address. Please avoid using sharp objects to open your package. In the case of canvases larger than 9"X12", please follow unwrapping instructions I will forward to you via a convo.
