I really can't remember a time that I wasn't working on a project. I had great inspiration from my parents who were very talented in sewing and woodworking. I really think my love for handmade came from Mom and Dad.

Tucked away, I still have my first sewing project...a stuffed clown doll that is just hideously beautiful. I still remember making my first dress and wearing it to school in eighth grade. I loved the fabric. It featured very brightly colored turtles. What was I thinking?!?

My beautiful grandma taught me to crochet when I was a kid. At the time, I was a bit confused but kept practicing and couldn't stop until I knew what I was doing. I made a bicentennial poncho in 1976. It was bright red, white and blue. I was so proud of that project.

When I was a bit older, I made a list of qualities I was looking for when finding my perfect husband. On my list was someone who would appreciate my love for sewing and crocheting. God answered my prayer and gave me the best spouse who truly does support what I do.

For a wedding gift my mother gave me a beautiful Singer sewing machine. That machine did its job in decorating my new home, and making clothes and toys for my two children.

Through the years, my husband offered many times to replace my sewing machine that eventually didn't work so well. Since my mom was no longer with me, I couldn't replace my sewing machine and resisted every time the offer came up.

Finally, when I hit the big 5-0!!! and my machine was 26 years old, I agreed to a new sewing machine for my birthday. I am sure Mom would be so happy for me. Since the day I was given my new machine, it's hardly had a day off.

Now the kids are married to beautiful people and I have five wonderful grandchildren. They are the inspiration for all the baby/children items I make.

I am having the time of my life. I have people to love and something to do, and lots to look forward to. What more could a person want!!!!
