Fine Mineral Specimens directly from the source.
In the Army I learned explosives, radioactive materials, and quarry operations, then on to college for geology and mineralogy, all while working in the industry. I ended up doing contract work for different mining companies all over the world--predominantly doing determinitive mineralogy and formation analysis. Uvarovite Garnet in Russia, Fluorite and Calcite in England, Hematite in Germany, Desert Glass in North Africa, Spodumene in North Carolina, and most recently, producing oil formations in Wyoming and Texas--everywhere I went, more specimens came home. I've made a number of friends through the years who continue to work the mines, and I frequently acquire their specimens for my own collection, for reference, and to pass along to colleagues for their own work and collections.
With my work, I am able to obtain specimens from all over the world. Since I work directly with the people mining these specimens, you will never find overpriced, marked-up specimens in my shop, and since I have been working in the industry for more than 25 years, I can guarantee each and every specimen to be properly identified and labeled with the correct locale.
These specimens are more than my livelihood, they are my life, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. I can usually be found digging for specimens in our spectacular 'backyard' of North Idaho, or wherever my work takes me, in the workshop cleaning and preparing specimens for display, or curating an inventory of over 3,600 specimens.
Customer service is a fundamental aspect of my business philosophy. I strive to take great care of my customers before, during, and after a sale. Any questions are answered accurately and professionally; every specimen is very well packaged to prevent damage by the delivery process, and every measure is taken to help ensure the satisfaction of my customers.
Welcome to Near Earth Exploration! I look forward to the opportunity to serve you!
