Nickadizzy's Shop Policies
Welcome! Nickadizzy offers a variety of vintage decor items, often with a tip of the hat to mid-century modern cocktail hour. Additionally, we love the illustrations found in mid-century printed items, and this store features what we love!
Wondering about the name, Nickadizzy? It's our son's imaginary friend's name, at 4 years old. He's frequently blamed for various shenanigans, so we thought we'd give him a chance to redeem himself.
PayPal or direct payment via credit card.
We intentionally re-use & recycle shipping materials. It's not always pretty, but we always make sure your purchases are packed to arrive safely.
Unless otherwise noted, all paper ephemera items will be carefully enclosed in archive-safe clear bags to protect your purchase, and shipped with a stiff board to prevent folds and wrinkles.
Matted items will be mounted in acid-free matting.
We will ship orders within 1-3 business days of confirmed payment.
Let us know if you need speedy delivery, and we'll figure out an acceptable solution.
Refunds and Exchanges
If you have questions about an item, please contact us. Because of the nature of ephemera, we have a No Returns Policy, unless the item is grossly misrepresented in the product description.
We do our best to completely describe the items and any flaws they may have, but we're not archivists. If you are not happy with your purchase, please contact us. We try hard to please our customers!
Additional Policies and FAQs
Care for your ephemera: By definition, ephemera are items not meant to last, so they need a little help from you. Print ads from vintage magazines, while awesome for framing, are often on low quality paper. Archivists recommend storing vintage print materials in pH-neutral, acid-free mats or bags - we already ship our items in acid-free bags, but if you are framing items, we recommend you mat them on acid-free board, available at any art or framing supply store and at almost any place that sells such materials. These materials really aren't that much more expensive.
We ship in bags made of Biaxially Oriented Polypropylene (BOPP) not only because they do not easily rip, tear, wrinkle, or fog but also because they are acid- and lignin-free, which protects your item against discoloration and damage.
Additionally, if framing, you should avoid hanging your ephemera in sunny areas which will increase the rate of fading, and if you want to go the extra mile, framing stores offer archival frames with UV-protected glass.
Or you can just tape it to your wall -- your call!
