Art has always been present in my life. As a child my first canvases were the sidewalks and pavements of the streets where I grew up. This was the beginning of a never-ending quest of expression by images, a vocabulary of place and time. While experimenting with various mediums, such as charcoal, pastel and painting chinaware, my experience and research brought me gradually to oil painting.
My inspiration was derived through the many drawings I executed, accumulated with the passing seasons on the pages of my sketchbooks. I started painting with a trowel (palette knife) and what a discovery to see the colors chant on the canvas.
With time I let myself later be charmed by watercolour, where I could let my imagination go free. When later I returned to oil, watercolour had left its mark. My researches and many works brought me to combine everything I had learned and I started to explore working with China ink, and using it with other mediums.
