Well friends, looks like I pretty much got cleaned out over the holidays! I am currently building up my inventory and working on custom orders, so you will slowly see stuff being posted here over the next few months. This year you will have many plush materials and intricate pattern scarves and bags to look forward to. Thanks for stopping by!
~~~ A bit about weaving ~~~
Handweaving is a highly intensive and strategic process that takes a long time to learn, and nearly a lifetime to master. It also typically requires the use of a loom, which can be very expensive and takes up a lot of space. Learning to weave is a huge investment of money and time, but the rewards are abounding. Many weavers agree they are addicted to their craft because the creative possibilities are endless.
There is a vast amount of knowledge that is required to create a quality woven cloth. Just knowing the basic ABC’s of how to weave is not enough. A skilled weaver has a thorough understanding of fiber materials, an eye for color and design, a hand that can feel the slightest difference in thread tension, a math mind, and very out-of-the-box problem solving abilities.
I personally find weaving to be the most expressive form of fiber art. The possible combinations of colors, patterns and textures are literally endless.
