Cat jars at Petjars's Shop
Petjars's Shop Announcement
Welcome to our shop!
Richard and Carolyn are both independent artists who have decided to collaboratively produce a line of pet jars. Richard produces the pot and the glaze, and Carolyn adds the finishing touch of the pet sculpture atop the pot. The finished piece is then fired in Richard's large gas kiln.
Many people use our pet jars simply for display, in order to celebrate a loved pet's presence with a handmade jar. Others have chosen to use them for treat jars, or dog biscuit storage. Some people have turned them into a repository for a loved pet's cremains. You can order the jar by itself, or you can also order one of Richard's handmade ceramic bases for the jar. If you want one of these, just order it as a separate item.
We work on a line of generic animals perched on a variety of shapes and sizes of pots, but most of our work, and the part we love best, is doing a personal pot and sculpture of one of your favorite pets. Convo us if you are interested in having us work up a piece for you, or check out our pieces for sale in the shop. Carolyn also does lots of individual personalized freestanding sculpture of pets, as well as generic or personalized clay tiles.

And not to be too macabre, but we will include capacity in cubic inches for our pet jars/urns. FYI, the industry standard is that 1 pound of body weight translates to 1 cubic inch of cremains.
