Announcement    Designed and crafted in my studio, these oil lamps are elegant, stylish and unique. Everything posted is in stock and ready to go. Ships fast in priority mail.

“Simple and elegant,” that’s my mantra for these oil lamps. Some zero in on their Zen qualities and ascribe an “Asian feel.” Another will recognize their roots in ancient middle-eastern cultures. The floating flame of a hanging lamp has it’s origins in many places. Lifting the light not only casts more illumination, it can also be safer- out of reach, something you can’t accidentally knock over. The table-top versions have a ceremonial presence. Not just decor, they can be used to mark special life-events.

Born of earth and fire, individually crafted, they are made of glazed ceramic and local hardwoods, they feature fiberglass wicks that never need trimming and come with a squirt bottle to make refilling easy.

Where could you place your lovely light… where will it feel at home? These lamps have found themselves in each and every room possible, from kitchen- hanging over the bar/counter, to bath- just next to the tub, to bedroom and deck, and dining room. Generally, they like cozy spaces- on a post, in a nook, between a painting and a corner or doorway- anywhere where there are framing elements to anchor.

I've also discovered that the hanging versions look great hanging in front of a mirror, creating a sort of frame. Most hang them from the wall on planters' hooks, while some hang them from ceilings or in windows from simple hooks. Now and then, they even find their way to a tree limb! Suspend a single flame or create a realm of magic with a cluster of gentle flames floating in space.

Bring out the exotic!
