I acquired my first batch of chicks back in 2011, with the humble ambition of raising a small flock for eggs for my household. I had no idea at the time that this simple endeavor would grow into a passion that would ultimately define my life and change it for the better. Little did I know that caring for these peculiar birds would bring me peace of mind and purpose unlike anything I'd known before, or that a creature I'd once passed over as mundane would become the focus of my time, energy, and thought. It's hard to imagine now, but it's not long ago that I scarcely thought about chickens at all!
One thing hasn't changed--my dedication to being as sustainable as I can. Whenever possible, I love to repurpose materials that would otherwise go to waste--in fact, many of my products are made with these leftover bits and scraps. Whether it's turning empty feed sacks into shopping totes, appliqueing pillows with leftover materials, or stuffing decorative items with minced fabric scraps, I do what I can to utilize as much as possible.
