Vintage: Pre-owned,used,second hand
Vintage items conjure up memories from the past.
An old book that I found in the dusty basement of a house during an estate sale, was probably destined to end up in the trash. I bought and listed it in my shop. My husband was quiet sure that no one would want it because of its condition. The binding was loose and the boards were worn, but the pages were clean and still contains the beautiful pictures and story lines. Around Christmas time, someone purchased the book as a present for her dad. Her note said, "Can't thank you enough...I've been looking for this book FOREVER. My dad's sister read it to him as a child :) ."
Vintage items also help create memories. A lady gave her two daughters an "Alice in Wonderland" birthday party. She purchased a tin tray decorated with Alice in Wonderland. The tray was a perfect keepsake for her two daughters birthday party. This was her feedback," Love this tray! loved the personal touch of adding a home made Birthday card for my two daughters Alice in Wonderland Birthday party! Thank You. "
Vintage items are one of kind. Items that are no longer being made or not readily available at the mall or the box stores.
A lace shrug that I found in a pile of clothes on top of the bed during an estate sale, was the perfect piece that the mother of-the-groom was looking for, to complete her look for the wedding. This was her feedback, "THANK YOU! Three days before the wedding and I FINALLY found the PERFECT piece! Love it!"
Stories like these makes me proud to have QVintage on Etsy. I'm providing personal service that brings happiness to people. I never thought that this kind of personal connection could exist in the vast world of the internet. I'm connected to the customers. They send me feedback about their purchases and my shop.
My shop has a variety of vintage treasures. I did not plan on having so many different items, but then I realized people out there are always looking for a particular treasure. Hopefully QVintage will have what they're looking for.
My husband and I go to estate sales almost every week. We're very fortunate to live in the Washington DC area. The diverse cultures offer many interesting estate sales. We've been to an estate sale where the owner of the house was a Supreme Court Justice (Potter Stewart), a Capitol Hill executive,an artist,a German War Bride,a Four Star General and a famous opera singer (Denyce Graves). Yes I have items listed in my shop from Justice Stewart and Denyce Graves. I will reveal which ones, to the purchaser of the listed items.
Thank you, thank you Etsy. I have a shop that is open to the world 24/7!!! It's such a great feeling when in the morning, I sign into my Etsy shop and I've sold an item(s) while I was sleeping.
***NEW MEMBER OF QVINTAGE***
Recently added my husband, Chris Warner as a member of QVintage. He's a retired Special Agent. With his free time, he coached our son's baseball team. When baseball is done, he spends his time writing stories, movie scripts, and painting. I love all of his paintings, so I encouraged him to start painting using small canvas. The mini original oil paintings are new addition to QVintage.
