WHAT IS QUARTZ INVERSION? It’s the point at which the silica crystals in clay change their molecular structure during the rise and fall of temperatures in the kiln. Heat serves as a catalyst for change. I think of it as a metaphor for most things in life and for the transformational power of art.
The work featured here is inspired by my family history, dreams, memory, the past. All work is original and one of a kind mixed media collage and encaustic.
